ISOC, Geneva. In the Palais Des Nations, UN Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, the Minister of Transport, Communication and IT Vahan Martirosyan and CEO and the President of ICANN Göran Marby signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The signing ceremony was attended by Permanent Representatives of the Embassy of Armenia in Switzerland as well as "Internet Society" NGO Vice President Grigori Saghyan and Board Member Lianna Galstyan.
Alexandra Kulikova, the Head of Global Stakeholder Engagement for Eastern Europe & Central Asia at ICANN, highlighted the significance of the participation of Civil Society organizations in the activities of ICANN, particularly the "Internet Society" NGO, and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding became an important step towards cooperation at the state level.

ISOC AM and Mediaeducation center took part in the Chapterthon program organized by ISOC with a project " E-learning technologies for more efficient Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education". November 27, 2017. Yerevan, Armenia. At the initiative of the Internet Society, the domain names "արմֆայթինգ.հայ" and "armfc.am" were awarded to the "Professional ArmFighting Federation". President of the Federation Hayk Ghukasyan, members of the federation, athletes were present at the meeting. From now on, the Federation's official website will also be available at the abovementioned addresses.

November 10, 2017. Dilijan, Armenia. The 5th Annual Business Innovation International Forum was launched in Dilijan. The two-day Innovation Forum is held under the theme "Towards a New Reality". Business Innovation Forum is an effective platform for discussions, innovation ideas for local and international experts in the field of education, technology and business. Through thematic discussions and contacts the experts present advanced innovation development experiences as well as formulate a future action plan.

Members of the WG presented the experience of several registries underlining their usability for the Armenian Registry. It was decided to summarize them and make ready as a final proposal to the Board of ISOC AM.

January 17, 2017. Yerevan, Armenia. ISOC AM council meeting took place. The agenda included proposals of a board member Gevorg Poghosyan on the improvement of the ISOC AM operations.

September 24, 2016. Yerevan, Armenia. ISOC AM General Assembly took place. Participants with 180voting rights were present. The President,I. Mkrtumyan, reported on the work done by ISOC AM  during 2013-2015 years. The presentation (in Armenian) can be seen here. The Director, A.Nersisyan,  reported about expenditures made in 2013-2015 and the financial health of the ISOC AM. His report (in Armenian) can be seen here. The reports were approved by the Assembly.  I.Mkrtumyan was re-elected as the President of ISOC AM. Two Board members, Hrachya Abovyan and Inna Kholodova, resigned because of changing the character of their jobs. 9 new members were admitted to the Board: Arman Nersisyan, Vahan Hovsepyan, Misak Khachatryan, Karen Gasparyan, Gevorg Poghosyan, Armen Muradyan, Murad Muradyan, Thomas Mazejian and Aram Mkhitaryan. July 6-7, 2016. MOSCOW, RUSSIA. DOMINO 2016. DOMINO (Domain Industry) is a summer meeting of the national domain and new top-level domain registries organized by the Technical Center of Internet. ISOC AM Board member Anna Karakhanyan and a member Kristina Babajanyan participated in the meeting.

June 30, 2016. RIPE NCC published a "K-root Reachability in the Middle East and Central Asia" paper, according to which Armenia has the lowest response delay in the region with an average of 34ms. It is due to the fact that Armenia has two K-root servers. One of them is installed in the ISOC AM.

June 28, 2016. Yerevan, Armenia. ‎Head of ITU Area Office for CIS countries Mr. Orozobek Kayikov visited the Internet Availability Center at the House of Culture of Blinds and met with the visually impaired people working in the computer center. The center is equipped with computers received by a grant of the Internet Society and computers and other devices donated by ITU with the active participation  of Mr. Kayikov. The group of young enthusiasts presented him the Internet radio project.

After that Mr. Kayikov visited ISOC Armenia office and had a discussion on ITU and ICANN roles in the governing of Internet and children safety in the Internet. ISOC AM President I.Mkrtumyan, director A.Nersisyan, PR manager LGalstyan, ISOC AM member K.Babajanyan were present at the discussion.

June 20, 2016. . Yerevan, Armenia. ISOC AM President Igor Mkrtumyan and Director Arman Nersisyan made a visit to Ejmiatsin city. The first visit was to the "Cross of Armenian Unity" NGO, where they meet with the director Grigor Machanents Babakhanyan and donated մաչանենց.հայ domain to the organization.


ISOC AM expressed readiness to help NGO with the equipment for the planned innovation center. The second visit was to "Arpinet" Company, where they saw a data center being constructed and had a meeting with the director of Arpinet, Armen Muradyan.

June 17, 2016. Yerevan, Armenia. ISOC AM President Igor Mkrtumyan and Director Arman Nersisyan made a visit to the "Smart City" NGO headed by the ISOC AM board member Karen Yerznkanyan and congratulated them with the 2nd anniversary of the organization. Earlier ISOC AM donated several computers to the organization that are used for training schoolchildren of the township in programming.

March 26, 2015 . Yerevan, Armenia. The ArmNet 2015 traditional annual conference sponsored by Orange Armenia and ISOC AM will start on April 4, 2015. This time it is devoted to mobile applications. Within the framework of the conference the ArmNet Awards 2015 contest of the best web sites and mobile applications was announced. Participants of the “ArmNet Awards 2015” compete in the following categories: Innovation, Best Content, Design and Usability, Social Impact. Grand Prix will be awarded for Best Mobile Application and Best Website. The Jury of "ArmNet Awards 2015" will examine and evaluate all websites and mobile applications submitted for the contest, announcing the nominees in each category on the 30th of March. The results of the contest will be announced on the 4th of April, at the official awards ceremony. The results will be announced on www.armnet.am website.

February 20, 2015, Yerevan, Armenia. The first meeting of the multistakeholder Internet Governance Forum Working Group (IGF WG) took place in the Ministry of Transport and Communication of the RA. The ISOC AM was designated as a secretariat of the WG and ISOC AM VP Grigori Saghyan – as a secretary of the WG. Participants should send their proposals on the plan of actions of the WG. One of the main tasks of the WG is the organization of regular Armenian IGFs.
IGF WG mailing list was created and igf.am domain registered.

April 7, 2014, Yerevan, Armenia. Media Education Center and Internet Society of Armenia organized a workshop on IGF. Over 40 students of the Yerevan State University Departments of International Relations,Telecommunications, Journalism, Informatics and Applied Mathematics participated in a workshop on public policy issues related to Internet governance. The workshop was followed by the simultaneous broadcast of the Fifth Russian Internet Governance Forum. Issues related to privacy, cybersecurity, cross-border jurisdiction, net neutrality discussed during the workshop. The students received the DiploFoundation's Book Introduction to Internet Governance 5th edition (Armenian version).

November 30, 2013, Vanadzor, Armenia. ISOC AM president I.Mkrtumyan, Board member Tigran Zargaryan and ISOC AM member Vahan Misakyan took part in the graduation ceremony of the first group of the "Young technician" project carried out by Vanadzor regional Internet center (ISOC Community grantee) under the management of ISOC AM member Margarita Solomonyan and ISOC AM. Within the framework of the project teenagers are learning computer hardware, repair, OS installation, LAN setup and Internet literacy. ISOC AM provided old computers and other hardware to the project. Young technicians are reviving them and providing to regional libraries and other regional organizations. Vahan Misakyan is a trainer of the project. The best graduates were presented with ISOC flash memory and "Internet Governance" book in Armenian.

May 16, 2013, Yerevan. First Lady of Armenia Mrs. Rita Sargsyan and the Misniter of Culture of the RA, Mrs. Hasmik Poghosyan visited the Internet Accessibility Center for Blind and Visually Impaired People (IACB) created by ISOC Community Grant Program. ISOC AM president, Igor Mkrtumyan and vice-president, Armen Nazaryan,, told about the history of IACB creation, inclusion of global ISOC, further plans and problems the House of Culture of Blinds is facing.

May 13, 2013, Yerevan. Meeting of Armenian ALAC groups with Roberto Gaetano (ICANN ALAC) at ISOC AM. Igor Mkrtumyan (ISOC AM president), Grigori Saghyan (ISOC AM Vice-president), Siranush Vardanyan (ISOC AM Board member, head of Phyunik ALAC group), Lianna Galstyan (ISOC AM Board member, head of ISOC AM ALAC group, Narine Khachatryan (ISOC AM member, head of MediaEducation Center ALAC group), Hayk Baghyan (ISOC AM Board member) were present at the meeting. The activity of Armenian ALAC groups was reported and their location in ICANN ALAC discussed.

April 25, 2013, Yerevan. ISOC AM president Igor Mkrtumyan (IM) took part in the 4th Russian IGF. During the forum he met with Jacek Gajewski (Chapter Development Manager, ISOC Europe) and Frederick Donck (Director European Regional Bureau, ISOC). They discussed the future plans of ISOC AM and coordinated it with ISOC plans. IM had also took part in the meeting of East European and Central Asian ccTLDs called by Veni Markovski (ICANN VP).


April 17, 2013, Yerevan. The official opening of the Internet Accessibility Center for Blind and Visually Impaired People (IACB) created by ISOC Community Grant Program. Representatives of public organizations, ministry of Social Security, media were present. The main equipment was provided by ISOC grant. Ministry of Transport and Communications as well as IRD Armenian office also provided equipment and furniture.

April 7-11, 2013, Beijing. ISOC AM Board members Lianna Galstyan and Siranush Vardanyan took part in the ICANN Beijing conference.

February 23, 2013, Yerevan. Annual meeting of ISOC AM (Photos). More than 80 members were present. Igor Mkrtumyan, ISOC AM president, made a report on the work done by ISOC AM on 2010-2012. The report was approved. I. Mkrtumyan was reelected as President of ISOC AM for 3 more years. 5 new Board members were elected:
- Ralph Yirikyan, General Manager of Vivacell-MTS, the largest mobile operator of Armenia;
- Andranik Aleksanyan, former director of ISOC AM, now Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications;
- Siranush Vardanyan, member of ICANN NomCom, head of Phyunik ALAC group in Armenia;
- Hayk Baghyan, Director of Media Education Center, head of Safe Internet program in Armenia;
- Lianna Galstyan, head of ISOC AM ALAC group.
Gagik Grigoryan, the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), representative of the Armenian government in ICANN GAC, was elected as a new vice president of ISOC AM with the responsibility of coordinating ISOC AM and MTC policies in Internet governance.
Arman Nersissyan was approved in the position of Director of ISOC AM.

January 25, 2013, Yerevan. Armenian Safer Internet Committee meeting took place where the nearest plans were discussed (Safe.am is a joint initiative of the Media Education Center and ISOC Armenia in partnership with Orange Armenia, the National Center of Educational Technologies of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Yerevan City Municipality).

August 25-26, 2012. ISOC AM member, Arman Atoyan, participated in the Campus Party Europe in Berlin - Germany's largest technology festival. Campus Party is the biggest electronic entertainment event in the world. It's a weeklong, 24-hours-a-day technology festival for thousands of "campuseros" - hackers, developers, gamers and geeks. Equipped with computers and other toys, they camp on-site and immerse themselves in a truly unique environment.
